Welcome From Director

Paul said in Acts 20:22-24, ‘And now, compelled by the Spirit, I am going to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there. I only know that in every city the Holy Spirit warns me that prison and hardships are facing me. However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me - the task of testifying to the gospel of God's grace.’

You’re at a point in your life where you can certainly identify with Paul not knowing a few things about his future; what will happen to you, and where will you end up.

Paul knew God had called him to Jerusalem and he knew from his past experience that prison and hardship were likely to face him again but notice his outlook on those hardships! His life meant nothing to him. How could that be? Because he didn’t live for this life, he lived for the life to come. ‘Living with Eternity in View’ has been the motto of Bethany for decades and continues to drive us. Our lives today mean nothing unless they impact eternity. If losing now means winning then, we’ll be the happiest losers on the planet.

I suspect that if you’re checking out Bethany College of Mission you have the same eternal perspective. We’re not looking for people who want to live ordinary lives, we’re looking for those who would gladly give theirs up for the sake of a better eternity and it seems like you might be one of them.

At some point God made it clear to Paul that he was to be in Jerusalem, and though he knew little of what would occur from there, he set himself in that direction. I encourage you to fast and pray until you know if you should be at Bethany. If you get stuck and can’t decide, then a year on our campus and 16 months with our missionaries overseas seems like the best place in the world to figure out what God wants you to do with your life. It sure beats making $9 an hour or spending thousands of dollars on a degree you don’t really want.

Check out our website to get all the information you can glean; call or e-mail our admissions office to get further information, visit our campus, and I trust your path will be made clear very soon.

I look forward with great anticipation for your arrival!
