Outreach Practicum

We hold strongly to the philosophy that the best learning occurs when students learn theories in conjunction with experience. More than 70 percent of American pastors today will tell you that their seminary training did little to prepare them for the ministry they find themselves in today. The primary reason for that is that they only discussed theories and did little ministry.

New Testament ministry starts with God and therefore must start in prayer. We resist a humanistic approach to ministry which begins with man. Through the Prayer and Christian Ministry course during your time on campus you will be working at the most populous University in the nation (over 53000 students) assisting a campus ministry in their church planting efforts. You will engage in intercession for the campus and we expect that during your ministry at the University you will continually be in dialogue with skeptical unbelievers and be forced to learn real evangelism skills. You’ll also be part of small groups and investigative Bible studies which will afford you the opportunity to disciple new believers and ideally, plant new micro churches alongside the leadership of the campus ministry we work with. This will be a great first step in your ministry development as you prepare for Global Internship.
